A complete main water line repipe!

Yep, we had to go for the whole shabang! A new main water line! If you read on in the post about our trip to Bend you will read that our old 3/4" galvanized steel pipe cracked and was in need of being replaced. We had several plumbers out to give us estimates. They all had their own opinions of course! Some wanted to drill underground and others wanted to come in and completely dig up the front yard. We have an old oil tank underground that they were all concerned about. After hearing all of their thoughts and getting quotes we went with the company that came highly recommended by our real estate agent. (The only company he trusts working on his plumbing.) The guy that came out did an excellent job. He drilled underground and put in new 1" pex tubing from the meter into the house. He also gave us a new shut-off valve since he also wanted to avoid the ol' oil tank that was located somewhere nearby the old shut-off. A spendy little project that was not really expected. Although I don't know too many people that expect to have their main water line crack. It was nice to not have our lawn torn up! Or that would have added another project to our list.
