Where to put the fire...

Where to put the fire...

This by far was the funniest picture I took this weekend. It is from Saturday night when all six of us and our two dogs walked down to the beach to have a campfire. Becks and Brent were trying to decide the ideal location of our campfire. This photo just looks like Becks is bossing Brent around. But they both had a say and they came up with a perfect spot. And we had a wonderful fire and delicious s'mores! Yum! Our fire kept burning and burning until we finally covered it in sand a little before midnight. It is one of my best beach memories as it was my first ever fire on a beach. It was cool to look down the coast to the left and the right and see all of the orange glowing fires!

On Sunday we drove down the road a few miles so that Becks and our friend Chad could climb a huge sand dune. Right at the bottom of the dune there were tide pools by the ocean. In these tide pools lived starfish, sea anemones, mussels and other sea creatures that you could touch. We were amazed that we could get this close to them and not have to pay. (Like at the local aquarium.) Pretty cool stuff!

After a great hike up to the top of the sand dune Koi and Becks are almost to the bottom. They had a good time seeing the sights from up top. And this little adventure wore Koi out!

Entry-closet tile removed

Entry-closet tile removed

Here is a photo of all of the ugly tile removed. The lines will remain until we refinish the floors. They are darker now that I got up all the loose dirt. Today I used a chemical adhesive remover to get up all the sticky adhesive left over from the tiles. What a job. The smell of the remover was enough to knock you over. I experienced a nice little chemical burn on my foot when I accidentally set my foot onto a paper towel that had some of the gunk on it. Talk about a burning sensation! I got it rinsed off as quick as possible, but it still left a nice burn mark. For all of you who don't know...I, Lee, am known for injuring myself while doing projects around the house. All because I am not very cautious. But hey, the job gets done!

All of the Koi photos are from one of our trips to the beach last spring. It was Koi's first trip ever to the Pacific Ocean and as you can see from the photo's she enjoyed every moment of it!

Koi scratching her back by twisting back and forth! She does this most commonly on carpet and grass, but found that the sand worked just as well.

Sorry for the blurry photo. I took it myself! My arm must not have been all that steady. This is the picture I sent to Becks last week to inform him that I got a new look. As he didn't even know that I was planning on going for another month or so. I am not all that impressed with the cut, so it will probably change again before most of you see us in July/August. Just wanted to put a picture out there for the family to see. (Even if it isn't the best.)

Celebrating Mom's Day at Mother's

Since we are so far away from our mom's we decided to go out to Sunday brunch in honor of them. We went to the restaurant voted #1 for brunch in Portland, Mothers, with our friends Nick and Kari and their son Josiah. Becks and Kari got the crunchy french toast, I got the blueberry pancake special and Nick opted for a sandwich. Everything was delicious and our time with our friends was fun. It was better than eating out alone on such a special day. Happy belated mother's day to all you mom's out there! (And to our mom's...your cards are on their way!)
