How did you spend your Sunday?

We decided on Sunday after church to do something out of doors as it was quite warm and beautiful! Couldn't see wasting any of the nice weather inside. So shortly after getting home we decided to take a trip up into Washington to Mount St. Helens. We packed up a couple bottles of water, sunscreen, and Koi and took off for the mountain. It took around an hour and a half to get there and was well worth the trip. Some of you may have already experienced it, but it was just amazing to think that this volcano had errupted only 24 years ago! We didn't go to the tourist information centers or anything during this trip, but probably will in the future to get a better understanding of this volcano's history. For now we just hiked through some of the old lava flows and saw the mountain closer than we can from Portland. Here are a few pictures from our trip! Hope you are able to get out and enjoy the outdoors this summer!

Are you a candidate for telecommuting?

Working at home is actually tougher in the house than the apartment. We didn't have projects or a yard in the apartment so we always went somewhere in the evenings. Now that we are home more it is harder to work during the day. My motivation is waining I suppose & I feel like I'm still at work all the time. Understand? This is deep. But if I didn't have so much work to do I probably wouldn't do anything work related.

OK, I will refuse from this point forward to write about work before I begin to gripe & complain & sound like a whiner. I do have a job after-all. But just one more comment ..... for those of you who might think that working at home would be great - you might want to examine yourself first. If you like to work alone, genuinely enjoy what you're doing, and can maintain the boundaries between work & your personal time it might be a good thing for you. If you have two of those three - you might want to reconsider. If you have 1 or less of those forget about it.  Lecture over. Class is dismissed.

On the personal front - we have been up to quite a lot. Since we moved in to the new digs we've been busy trying to make it "us". You know ..... decorating, organizing, repairing, painting, dreaming, breaking things .... the normal stuff. We could really use some help if any of you would like to come on over. It's just a short flight away for our Ohio friends. Any takers? We have multiple layers of painted wallpaper waiting for you. Josh & Kir?
