Here are the keys!

Well it is a done deal!!
We received our keys to our new house today! It was cool to see it minus the sellers possessions. Tonight we even took our dog Koi over to check out the new home. She was a bit anxious and confused, but was settled in no time at all. As is evident in this photo of her already lounging on the grass. We think she is going to like this arrangement of a big backyard to roam around. And we are going to like it as she won't be spending as much time in the house!

We got a better chance today to check out the landscaped backyard and found many wonderful plants. Including a little raised bed full of herbs! Yum! And a blueberry bush! (The berries were quite tasty!) So many exciting finds! We are looking forward to Saturday when our friends are coming to help us move our stuff! It will be fun to arrange and re-arrange the furniture in the house until we find the right look! There are also several little projects to keep ourselves busy. And a not so small project...the kitchen needs updated. The '70's weren't so kind to it!

For all those wondering, we did survive our last known trip for a while. Our time out in Michigan for our friends Rob and Zhantell's wedding was wonderful. It was an absolutely perfect day for the couple. The weather was terrific! The bride was stunning and the groom was quite dapper in his white and blue seersucker suit! They went off the next morning for a lovely honeymoon in Hawaii! Wish we could have gone! Maybe someday! Here is a picture of the happy couple.

Ready, Set, Go!!!

It is time to start this blogging thing. There is no reason for me to keep delaying .... waiting for some sort of revelation. I guess that I could begin with what's been going on here lately. We just went through a grueling stretch of traveling and visits from family. Don't get me wrong - it's great to see family and have them come to visit but it can be exhausting. Especially when you're talking about putting 4 people and a big dog in a small 2-bedroom apartment. Add to the mix that I work from home. Oi!!

For that reason we are ecstatic that we are in the process of buying a house!!! Room to move around, no noisy neighbors with squeaky beds above, a yard to toil in, nearby parking in our own carport (not 1/4 mile away), an actual guest room for guests, and no security deposit to worry about. A place with character to call our own. Let the home project list begin!!! You'd think we would have learned our lesson after the last place. Hope we stay in this one long enough for the paint to dry.

Here is a picture of the house if you are interested. We do welcome everyone to visit. There will be plenty of room now so we're not all on top of each other.

There is just one more trip planned for this summer before we settle in at home for the summer. We will be flying to Chicago on Friday to go to a wedding in Michigan on Saturday. It should be a great time being as one of my best friends from college is getting married. Rob (aka Suter) will be marrying Zhantell. We are so happy for this cool couple to be starting their new life together & that we are able to be there with them. Hopefully, we'll have more on them in another blog.
